During the first two years of training, integrated residents also spend a significant number of months rotating through the divisions of plastic surgery at each respective teaching hospital in order to establish early exposure to the field, and to establish early and lasting mentoring relationships with the faculty and more senior residents. Dr. Colwell has taught courses in abdominoplasty and body contouring to plastic surgeons and serves as the faculty instructor to teach these techniques to the Harvard plastic surgery residents.
