It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathy S. Schmitz Hayden (Evansville, Indiana), who passed away on May 1, 2022, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Honor a loved one by planting trees in their memory. Kathy was born July 24, 1961 to the late Elizabeth (Schaar) and William J. Schmitz. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Rachel Leslie; her grandson, Brenden Leslie; her mother, Rose Mary; her brother, Larry Schmitz; and many more loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. For over 35 years, she worked with EVSC as the Ed Center Coordinator. Cathy was always being surprised by Rodney with special trips, some of the most memorable include an overnight train ride, a hot air balloon ride, and zip lining.
